Cashback vs Coupon Codes: Which Actually Saves You More Money?

A coupon code and cashback look similar from a distance — both save you money on an order — but they work in completely different ways, and mixing them up is why some shoppers assume they have to pick one or the other. They don't. Here's the actual difference.

A coupon code changes the price at checkout

A coupon code is applied directly at the store's own checkout page and reduces the amount you pay right there, before you complete the order. Cashback is paid after the order, on top of whatever you paid

So using a coupon code doesn't reduce or void your cashback — if anything, using both together is strictly better than using just one, since you get the immediate discount and the cashback on top.
