How CashJosh actually works, the money behind the cashback, how tracking and confirmation work, what the site never asks you for, and how withdrawals to UPI or bank happen. A straight answer to "is CashJosh legit".
If you have landed here before signing up, or you have cashback sitting as "Pending" and you are wondering whether it will ever reach your bank, this page is the straight answer. It explains exactly how CashJosh works, where the money comes from, what the site does and does not ask you for, and how withdrawals happen, so you can judge it for yourself.
The short version
- CashJosh is a cashback and coupons platform for online shopping in India. It is free to use.
- The cashback is real money, credited to your wallet and withdrawable to UPI or bank transfer, not points or a store voucher.
- It is operated from a registered address in Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, 244713, with support at support@cashjosh.in.
- CashJosh never asks for your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank password. You enter payment details only on the store's own checkout, exactly as you would without cashback.
- Cashback takes time to confirm. That wait is normal and is explained below.
Where the cashback money comes from
Cashback is a shared commission, not a discount and not a giveaway. When an online store wants customers, it pays a commission to whoever refers the sale. That is affiliate marketing, and it has run quietly behind most e-commerce for two decades. CashJosh sits on the shopper's side of that arrangement: instead of keeping the commission, it passes most of it back to you.
Two things follow from that:
- The price you pay never changes. You check out on the store's own site, at the store's own price. The commission is calculated and paid separately, afterwards, by the store.
- A site claiming its cashback is a "special discount" is describing something that is not how affiliate cashback works. The honest version is what you just read.

What happens between your click and your wallet
- You open a store from its CashJosh page using the Shop & Earn button. This loads the store's real website or app through a tracked link.
- A tracking ID travels with that click, invisibly, to checkout.
- You shop and pay exactly as normal. Nothing about the checkout looks different, and CashJosh never sees your payment details.
- The store reports the sale back, usually within a day or two, tagged with that tracking ID. That is how your specific order is matched to your account.
- Cashback appears as Pending in your wallet, calculated on what you actually paid.
The one rule that makes this work: start every purchase from Shop & Earn, and finish checkout in the same browsing session. Going back to the store directly, switching from browser to app midway, or clicking a different coupon site just before paying can break the tracking ID. That is the most common reason cashback does not show up. Our troubleshooting checklist covers the rest.
Why cashback sits "Pending" before you can withdraw it
Every store has a return and cancellation window. Until that window closes without a return, the sale is not final from the store's side, so the commission is not final either. Pending means the cashback is real and calculated, it is just waiting for the store's return window to close.
Once it does, the store confirms the sale and your cashback flips from Pending to Confirmed, at which point it is withdrawable. Typical windows, based on live data across CashJosh's partner stores:
| Category | Typical confirmation window |
|---|---|
| Grocery | about 20 to 45 days |
| Beauty and personal care | about 45 to 65 days |
| Electronics | about 60 to 90 days |
| Finance (cards, accounts) | about 60 to 90 days |
| Travel | about 60 to 90+ days |
| Fashion and sportswear | about 75 to 106 days |
These are ranges, not promises. The exact number for any store is shown on that store's own page and in your wallet. More detail: Pending vs Confirmed cashback explained.
Getting your money out
Once cashback is Confirmed it moves into your withdrawable balance. From there:
- Withdraw to UPI or bank transfer (a gift-card option is available where enabled).
- The minimum withdrawal is ₹200. Confirmed balance simply accumulates until you reach it.
- Only one withdrawal request can be pending at a time, for accounting and fraud-control reasons.
- Once your total lifetime payouts cross ₹20,000, Indian tax rules require PAN and KYC verification before further payouts. You add this once in Account settings.
There is a ₹10 referral bonus for each friend who joins through your link and shops, with no cap on how many you refer.
Is it safe?
A legitimate cashback platform does exactly one sensitive thing: it redirects you to the store's real checkout, where you enter your details with the store, the same as always. Points to check, for CashJosh or any similar site:
- It never asks for card, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank password on its own pages. CashJosh does not. If any cashback site does, stop there.
- It has a real, reachable support channel and a registered address. CashJosh: support@cashjosh.in, response within 24 to 48 hours, registered in Kashipur, Uttarakhand.
- It is transparent about the wait. Cashback that "confirms instantly" on every order is a warning sign, not a feature, because the store's return window has not closed yet.
- It publishes who writes and checks its content. See our editorial standards.
Honest limitations
No review is useful without these:
- Cashback is not instant. Confirmation takes weeks to a few months depending on the category. If you need the money this week, this is not that.
- Tracking can break. Ad blockers, privacy extensions, and jumping between apps and browsers can all strip the tracking ID. When that happens you file a Missing Cashback claim with the order ID, and it is reconciled against the store's report, but it is friction.
- Returns void the cashback for the returned items. Cashback is always on the final kept amount.
- Rates change. The percentage on a store's page is current; it can move month to month with the store's own promotions.
- CashJosh is a newer platform. It is not one of the decade-old names. What it can be judged on today is the mechanics above, which are the same mechanics every cashback site runs on, and the transparency around them.
So, is CashJosh legit?
Yes, in the sense that matters: it works the way affiliate cashback actually works, it pays real money to UPI or bank, it never asks for payment credentials, and it is upfront about the confirmation wait and the ways tracking can fail. Whether it is worth your time comes down to whether you shop online often enough for small percentages, credited weeks later, to add up. If you do, start from the store list sorted by highest cashback and begin every purchase from Shop & Earn.
